Between jazz and intense melodic lines that dig your mind like vinyl grooves, Valerio Salzano’s ‘L’Acquedotto di Silvio’ is a song that speaks to your inside. It flows linear and smooth in its phrases and sounds, simple and thin like the part of the brain after which it is named. Pure substance and experience. It purposely seems to be divided into three moments that smoothly balance and melt into each other. From the suspended, almost heavenly notes of its intro, where the piano speaks to the double bass, it turns into a thick and structured harmonic substance and a Mediterranean line, until the melodic epilogue that takes you far away in space and time generating melancholic atmospheres typical of French soundtracks in the 70s.
