Robert C. Fullerton is a self-taught musician, whose musical journey has taken him through blues, folk, rock, gospel, jazz and even choral music. This journey has brought him to a place of seeing other people's music through his own eyes and ears, resulting in interpretations that are faithful to the original, yet often quite unique. "Whenever I'm asked what style of music I play, I'm at a bit of a loss. Although my voice seems to lend itself to the blues, I don't necessarily sing the blues…but I do tend to add a touch of jazz and blues to every song I perform. This stands true whether I'm singing my own tunes, or interpreting someone else's." With a repertoire that includes original songs as well as songs from the 30's, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s , everything is "looked at through blue eyes" - a touch of jazz, blues, a little bit of soul. He most recent release Never Too Late is a testament that he has learned quite a bit as a songwriter as he delivers nine songs which are quite enjoyable. At the core of these songs are an acoustic guitar and his voice. Fullerton has a voice that I liked right away. It’s raspy, seasoned and just sounds like he has some experience behind those eyeballs. The music sounds light, relaxed and loose. There isn’t a whole lot of urgency or rocking out. Fullerton takes his time with the songs and doesn’t seemed rush.
