After playing electric guitar for several CDs, I've migrated back to the essence of the pure acoustic guitar/vocal combination. Although loving the several years of "living the Blues" in preparation for recording "Blues STPH", going back to this lighter, more melodic feel was very invigorating. The first thing I noticed was how much my fingers hurt from playing the heavier gauge strings of the acoustic - It seemed to take forever to get the finger callus thing going again - Ouch!!! However, there is just something very magical about the "all acoustic" platform. Yeah, I know I'm not at the same level as the "big boys" in the industry, but that's never stopped me before ... and now, for me, it's more about the song's content & feel than it is being a perfect guitarist or singer.

I imagine that a few songs will predate some listeners - Like Mr. Untouchable ... I never missed an episode of Eliot Ness & the Untouchables, as they chased Al Capone - always looked forward to that every week on TV ... and at the Saturday morning movie theater, where a milk carton would get you in for free ! And I guess the song "Oh Dey Ley" comes from my boyhood memories and how the many western movies set the scene of living back in the days of windmills & buckboards, then making the ride into town for the Saturday night hoedown - hmmmm, not much of that going on these daze!!!
