简介

La Continuación del Sonido (after the sound) is an album that fuses Jazz, Rock, South American & Latin influences into a music without Borders. Recorded in Santiago de Chile it features tops musicians that are pillars on the Chilean music scene. Saxophonist Agustín Moya, Pianist Carmen Paz "Kuki" González Basist Rodrigo Galarce join drummer Francisco "Pancho" Molina on this musical journey that travel through music of the world, Jazz and rock. La Continuación del Sonido (After the sound) Features 5 Tracks composed by Molina, one by Saxophonist Agustín Moya and 2 that are a collective fee jazz improvisation. The music on this recording informed by his eclectic life and musical experience both in the US and in his homeland. Molina's compelling drumming-- which before devoting himself to jazz was honed over 15 years as a founding member of Los Tres, the most successful and influential Chilean rock band of the 1990s- eemlessly weaves together intricate jazz nuances with the energy of rock and the infectious rhythms of various Latin American cultures. The Tittle " La continuación del Sonido" ...After the sound./ would be the most close translation/ refers to a state of mind. Is from where a musician or artist get the strength to move in the turbulent waters of self production and also about being a musician on this days. The Opening Track "Ticket to Timbuktu" is a new arrangement of a song in 5/4 that was released originally on Pancho Molina's first album in USA (Open for Business. Featuring George Garzone, Ben Street, Leo Genovese & Elias Meister). This Version features the quartet starting with a free style improvisation that will take the listener into this "musical journey" based on Changes inspired by John Coltrane and influenced by both music from the heyday of the fusion era pioneered by Weather Report and also by the music of the Malian Singer Ali Farka Touré. -Nocturno is a track composed by Chilean saxophonist Agustín Moya. iS the first track of the album played in a trio format, piano less. Is a lovely melody writen in 6/8 in which the three musicians interact and move freely in the form. -Valparaíso is another Francisco Molina composition. It pays tribute to the port of Valparaiso in Chile., Is performed as a piano-less trio. Molina's drumming is tasteful and elegant and the melody is simple and has a strong folk flavor. The rhythm has a Cueca feel, which is the Chilean national dance. -Tigre Blanco is a composition that fuses Hard Bop, Afro and Rock influences. Molina wrote a high energy piece where the band can play it with a full display of creativity. -Cerro Caracol is a medium slow afro rhythm composition written by Pancho. i has a strong and funky bass line that provides the foundation for a beautiful and simple melody. The quartet display its potential to a maximum here. -La continuación del Sonido I is a collective improvisation, again, in a piano less trio. -La Continuación del Sonido II is wonderful bass statement. -Bedstuy Facilities Another one by Molina, Celebrate the jazz and Blues traditions. “Bedstuy Facilities” is what Molina called the apartment in Brooklyn he moved into after he left Boston which was a hangout for - and the site of many a jam session with - his musician friends.
