Coco is a wrecking ball of emotions. Watch out for her. She comes at you with the clearest of vocals, asking you to believe that hers is soft stuff. Oh, and then…just when you start to rest in it, she grabs your hidden heart and never lets go. Coco O’Connor sneaks up on you. And it's not fair! She hails from Alabama, near Muscle Shoals. True to her heritage, she played bluegrass at five and started writing at ten. Today, she calls her originals, “Just real, with a swampy feel.” Coco has been in the music industry herself, has studied the industry, has lived that life. But once you hear her sing, you won’t care. It’s not about her experience on the road, on major stages…it's about her voice and those songs. The ones that won’t let go. She moved to Santa Fe and lives in her own studio. “I love the sound of those classic records made between 1960 and 1979," Coco says, as her face turns melancholy.
