简介
“The amygdalae are a pair of neuron clusters, located deep in the brain, associated with emotion, and memory of such emotion. A fitting name, for such a poignant album, which, through subdued harmony layered with gentle nuances of tone, would prove to invoke the service of said organs. The album is comprised of 14 tracks; 13 original compositions, as well as a brilliant interpretation of the first movement of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. The recordings provide an insight into the mind of Bryan Matuskey, a student of music attending Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, very active within its music department. The vivid harmonies invoke a subtle sense of mystery, which is contrasted by the showy runs and cadences, and virtuosic displays of pianism, present in every composition on this album. Overall, an amazing aural indulgence, and an inspiring experience, from a gifted pianist. “ -Review by Pianist Thomas Marcinek
