Charles Pryor's father bought him his first trumpet at the age of 3. His father studied under Captain Walter Dyett, Charlie Allen, & Joe Summerhill. This is where Charles gets his discipline and training with the trumpet. Charles Pryor's love for the trumpet is definitely an extension of his father's love for the instrument. During Charles's childhood his father gave him private lessons to provide a strong foundation of musical theory knowledge and the respect for practicing to become perfect. Charles age 12 performed at the award assembly at Walter Dyett middle school. After enrolling into Simeon H.S. charles performed with the beginning and advanced band. As a sophmore Charles was chosen to become one of the youngest Drum Majors in Simeon H.S. band history. Charles attended the Smith-Walbridge drum major camp at the age 15 and recieved the Most Improved Drum Major Award. At the age of 22 Charles purchased his first professional model trumpet and decided to follow his dream which was to become a professional trumpeter. Charles also recieved education from elite musicians as he made several appearances at Chicago Jazz & Blues clubs. Charles has toured with Charlie Love, Lubriphonic, and has shared the stage with numerous musicians live in concert in North and South America. At 36 Charles Tours the Worldwide on his own & with Big James & the Chicago Playboys. Charles Pryor is currently working on several musical & video projects to be released in 2011.
