New artist Scumsoul (aka Pieter Leijten) serves up a super slice of future funk iced with the amazing voice and lyrics of major songstress Kaysee whom needs no introduction, the track entitled 'New day' comes with a positive message in these uncertain times... Pieter Leijten is a 23-year-old blogger, short film maker and music producer from Tilburg, The Netherlands. Music filled his childhood, from recording tapes on his little red first Sony radio to downloading his first MP3's with Napster. At the age of 12 he started experimenting with making music. His brother introduced him to House Music, and music software from a nearby recording studio. Instantly hooked, young Pieter soon starts to use as much time as possible to make his own music. Next to making music, he starts his own blog on free music using a (at that time) rather new online service called Soundcloud. After one year, the blog hits hundreds of visits on a daily basis and support from people such as American dj/producer Kaskade and Outkast's Big Boi. After ten years of producing music and putting it up on the internet under serveral monikers, one track gets noticed by ourselves. The track is signed and counts as his first official EP. Remix duties on 'New day' have fallen into the capable hands of Joeski, Si Gordon & 2 Good Souls/Matt Early. New boy's 2 Good Souls together with Matt Early turn in a stonking main room house mix, fresh from their popular remix of Kathy Brown the guy's carry over a similar sound on this.. Top work! Finally Si Gordon (Stereo Mutants) strips the whole thing back and stays at a low slung 118bpm with his 4am mellow mix, proving his unique versatitly when it comes to production.
