The Semi Ninjas are an American alternative rock band formed in 2016 in Jacksonville, Florida. The band is comprised of Sue McEnnis (Vocals, Guitars), Doug Sanders (Vocals, Guitars), and Chris Huber (Drums). McEnnis was once part of the original line-up of the popular Irish punk band, Flogging Molly (on guitar). The Semi Ninjas music contains elements of psychedelic rock, noise pop, hard rock, surf-pop and surf rock. McEnnis and Sanders are the band’s primary songwriters. Their jarring pop-rock sound is a hodgepodge of influences, including bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Throwing Muses, Jane's Addiction, Sonic Youth and The Pixies. The band incorporates creative chord progressions, unorthodox song structures and infectious pop-oriented melodies. The Semi Ninjas debut release EP is titled "Isolation Youth," and is available at all online retail music stores.
