简介
From Clelia's humble beginnings as a session singer in the historical Hadley Studios in Australia's country music capital Tamworth in l975 to her latest global accolade - winning the Production of the Year in the 2010 European Country Music Awards for her 2008 album Wildflowers, River Valley Dreaming is a true career celebration for Clelia Adams. A bonus CD Clelia - The Archives, traces her recording history from l975 through to 2008 with 18 bonus tracks. Released Oct. 1, early reviews for River Valley Dreaming are nothing short of stunning, with one word descriptions...WOW...BRILLIANT...WONDERFUL..I LOVE IT. The album has 14 tracks of classic roots country with flavours of rockabilly, western swing, honky tonk, tex-mex (or country and mediterranean) and the brilliant finale La Paloma sung in her native Italian tongue. Commented by Bert Everett of the Bundaberg Guardian: "There are so many high spots on this CD that its hard to find any low spots, because there aren't any". The covers here are a driving version of Hank Williams "Baby We're Really In Love" Jean Shephard's 50's classic "Jeopardy", Randy Travis' "Honky Tonk Moon", Joey and Rory's brilliant "Play the Song", and the wonderful "Peel Street Buskers Lament" describing unrequited love on Tamworth's streets during the CM festival. The 8 self penned tracks are born from Clelia's new life on the banks of the Brunswick River in the Northern Rivers of NSW. "River Valley Express" a classic train song, documenting the old train route through the shire. "The Italian Cowgirl", a biographical spagetti western invoking the 30's and 40's cowboy sound. "Rainbird Yodel" destined to become an Australian heritage classic. "Down The Line" with its philosophical themes wrapped in latin feel. "My Baby's Love" a heartfelt song to her daughter Jessie, who sang her back from the brink, when Clelia was in hospital with a burst appendix. "Hometown Boogie", a romp around the farm, baby boomers growing old disgracefully. "Golden Butterflies" count your blessings every day. "Tha Captain and the Gypsy" a folksy latin textured biographical love song of meeting her husband. Do yourself a favour and listen to River Valley Dreaming. This is true international country music ..."Clelia sings country like nobody else". Since the album's October 2011 release, River Valley Dreaming has received rave reviews globally, a five star review from Paul Riley from the UK's Country Music People magazine and listed on the Best of 2011 Critics Choice Top 10 in the UK.
