This June sees Tenampa Recordings present Vendor EP from Dutch producer Mike Ravelli featuring a remix by Robert Babicz. Established in Mexico in 2011, Tenampa have hosted the likes of Amine Edge, Djuma Soundsystem, and James Teej. The latest addition to the imprint is DJ/producer Mike Ravelli who was a component in the Amsterdam based GZG collective in the early noughties. Today his energetic electronic music soundtracks venues such as Katerholzig in Berlin, Egg in London, Barraca in Valencia and Lantern in Beijing and with previous releases on Sincopat, Comport, SoHo Beats and UNT Records hes garnered support from the likes of Karotte, Edu Imbernon and Dubfire. Vendor is the first track on the EP, its pounding bassline creeps in over a dusty off beat drum track and is peppered with bluesy electric guitar ad libs. Second up is the Robert Babicz remix, where atmospherics swirl above and the bassline is reinforced by a relentless four-four beat beneath. The final track Taura rounds up the release with the kind of rhythmic bass and arpeggios found in acid house accompanied by pulsing kick drums and crunchy claps.
