简介
This single is unlike anything you've ever heard before. It's a song about the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of that great ship Titanic. That ill-fated ship, whose maiden voyage across the Atlantic ended in a cold and unexpected way... when clashing with an iceberg near midnight. A ship whose memory will forever live in the hearts and minds of countless millions around the world. She has forever captured the imagination of us all, and now....Thommy has striven to capture the spirit, and passion of this event in a solemn, yet lively way. "Panic on the Titanic" is a pleasant, yet crazy mixture of Jazz, Country, Pop, and Big Band Trumpets that creates a first class tour through Titanic's history and yes... even the era in which she sailed. This effect was created by blending Trumpets, electric guitars, bass, violins, and Thommy's own soul searching southern American voice and heart. Thommy is a versatile American artist, who currently resides in sunny South Africa. His music has an "International" flavour, and that sets him apart from the pack. Thommy is that truly rare artist that sings with his whole soul, and in this song he tells us, that even though 100 years have now past, since that dreadful night of April 14, 1912. We are still crying tears.... Tears for the unsung heroes of that fateful night. "Panic on the Titanic" is an upbeat song with a rhythmic combination, that you will love. With brass trumpets blaring that add a zesty life throughout the song. Thommy's writing skills too, truly shine forth, as he takes us all on a journey back in time. In the song's second verse Thommy eludes to the incomparable Vincent Van Goth, and in the third verse to the great Mexican General Pancho Villa. ( Pronounced Pon cho V - Yah ) who came into greater power as a Governor in Mexico about the time of Titanic's sinking. Both of these men were geniuses at their craft... just like the Titanic which was... "Thee"- single most advanced ship of her day. Yet both men "Sank" before they could taste of the fruits of their greatness... just like the Titanic. Neither of these men ever reached their goals, or truly fulfilled their destinies. Indeed, you could say their greatness helped to kill them. Titanic was called, "The Unsinkable Ship" and so her Captain did not seem to fear, or revere the icebergs of the North Atlantic - to his own demise, and to his ship's. Pancho Villa himself, was assassinated shortly after revealing his intentions of running for the Presidency of Mexico. Usually he always had plenty of body-guards around him, but on this day; for reasons unknown. He drove into town on business with only a few associates. This confidence of his... was his undoing... his fatal mistake. Like the Titanic, he never made it to his destination. He was gunned-down in his open air 1919 Dodge. Without his proper amount of body guards he was no match for the seven men who gunned him down, as he approached. Pancho's drive into town that day helped to ensure his untimely death. What would Mexico be like today had this man just used more care? How long would have Titanic sailed the oceans... had her Sea Captain just used more care? Even poor miss-guided Vincent did himself in. It is reported that he shot himself in a wheat field where he use to love painting on canvas. The bullet did not quickly kill him, and so he walked back home, and was attended to by physicians, and his beloved brother Theo. But just as the Titanic took time to sink.... Vincent also sank slowly into eternity. Theo said his brothers last words were, "This sadness will last forever" Today the world grieves for the Titanic... a hundred years later. Our sadness lives on for the ship and crew of the Titanic and yes... we even still grieve over poor beloved Vincent Van Goth. So in that instance he was right. Van Goth was a remarkable man who gave the world such beautiful paintings, and yet, was himself... stricken with insanity. Though this song does not delve into all these many things, it is enough to know, that when one is great... He is also often careless as well. Just as the Captain of the Titanic was careless, and a bit insane to allow his great ship with so many aboard to plunge it's way forward while other ships in the area where drifting calmly at sea... for the night. For they knew, and respected the fact, that there where Icebergs about. Yes all of them were great in their own right. The Titanic, Pancho Villa, and the immortal Vincent Van Goth, but none of them lived long enough to realize their greatness. This song is then...dedicated to them and to their memory. May their memory live on to teach future generations the lessons that they leave us. "Panic on the Titanic" is one of those rare songs you find every once in a while. The melody is great. The music is even greater, and the story... well... it's divine. How does the song end you ask? Well... that's another, "Twist in the Tale." It speaks of another sad tragedy - which it would be... if it really did happen, as Thommy has written... A truly tragic tragedy for the whole world at large.... and especially for.... Vincent... So grab that favourite bottle of wine, cook up some awesome sole, and enjoy the song, "Panic on the Titanic" It will bless you dearly, and remember... those who are truly great.... need not to be.. overly confident. "These Three" can testify to that! We leave you by reminding you to check out Thommy on Facebook, Myspace, and Youtube. He loves to hear from those who are blessed by his songs, acting, and comedy...
