The Quintet plays on: Love for sale, Meir's Mood, Relief, Mixed up Blues, and Hava. The second group is a trio featuring Rahn Burton on the Hammond B3 and Victor Jones on drums. The trio plays on: This I Dig of You, Body and Soul, Parker's Mood and You and the Night and the Music. The last tune is Waltz in B Minor which is solo acoustic guitars. Victor Jones and Andy McKee are the vibrant rhythm section of Michel Petrucciani. Yaron Gershovsky composes and plays with Manhattan Transfer. Rahn Burton has worked with Stanley Turrentine, Art Blakey and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Jay Rodriguez is an up an coming young saxophonist who plays with The Mingus Big Band. Meir Ben-Michael's guitar playing has a unique energy that combines the tradition of Be-bop with Contemporary musical influences. These sessions are a true representation of the music of Meir Ben-Michael. You will find this album a joy to listen to. I dedicate this album to my brother Mordechi Bouzaglou who passed away in a tragic car accident at the age of 18. He was six years my senior. He left behind this guitar which I have continued to play from his last notes. It has been in my heart to continue where he had left off and hope that I have fulfilled his dream in the making of this album. Chick Corea and the warmth of Clifford Brown. I have chosen four of my original compositions for this album: "MEIR'S MOOD" I wrote this ballad during a period when I was listening to a lot of Monk. "Meir's Mood" was influenced by Monk's "Pannonica". "RELIEF" When I heard the first phrase of this tune the rest just came out. This tune is a relief from the hard times I experienced while living in New York. "MIXED UP BLUES" is a combination of a few phrases I had accumulated over the years which finally found themselves within a twelve bar phrase. "HAVA" I dedicated to my eldest sister who is loved dearly. I have also chosen the Bill Evans composition Waltz in B Minor which I have wanted to record for a very long time. This album wouldn't be complete without it.
