Mike Lennon's In Another World is the follow up to Hollywood Psychos PRP100016 . Recorded from August 2013 to July 2014 . Originally to be released in August 2014 the cd was delayed until the completion of the bonus ep "Blood On The Red , White and Blue" . " I wrote the music for most of the 12 songs in spring 2013" says Mike , I wanted to use different styles for each song . I needed the variety after the straight up psychobilly of Hollywood Psychos" . I had a batch of new tunes and started recording the rhythm tracks in June , I was in New York City for The Psychobillys 2013 reunion on July 15 at the Fish Bar ,that's where I wrote the basic lyrics in NY '. "In Another World" kicks off the cd with a great mid period Beatles Harmony and Byrds like riff about a relationship that breaks down because of outside forces . " Calling You " rocks in Dave Brubeck 5/4 time with Beach Boys harmonies and Brian Wilson like falsetto on the chorus . " Gemini Girl " the single is a minor key REM/Big Star like track with clever use of the signs of the zodiak . The John Lennon Imagine era sounding " Time " is one of Mike's finest songs with soaring falsetto and heartfelt vocals . The Psychobilly " She's So Far Gone , was written for the Hollywood Psychos cd but wasn't used . " I rearranged the song to fit the feel of Another World " . The country rock " How long " recalls The SweetheartHeart Of The Rodeo era Byrds before going into a Beach Boys Pet Sounds bridge . The 80's sounding Who/ B52s " I Can Make You Mine rocks along nicely followed by " It's The Feeling" calls to mind Paul McCartney and Wings and in the style of earlier Mike Lennon songs like " Psycho Woman " , and "Love Me Tonight " . " I Just Want To Make You Love Me " Brings to mind early Bad Company a nice chunky power pop rocker . " "Never Wanna See You Go " another track left off the Hollywood Psychos album moves along in true Psycho style. " If Your Gonna See Him " where 12 String Rickenbacker meets dance . The closer Psycho Hop closes the album on a fun note. "That was cool in 2000 I had a friend who was doing soundscapes at the Madison Hotel in downtown Phoenix . He made a real primitive electronic 12 bar blues . I added lead guitar , bass , piano and vocals in 2014 . The Folk Punkabilly bonus ep " Blood On The Red , White and Blue" is a 6 song Social commentary on the state of the world since 2001 " . Recorded from July till November 2014 . " I felt the time was right and these six songs worked really well in folk rock type arrangements , ( Ovation 12 string acoustic , 330 Rickenbacker 12 string Fender P bass and drum tracks) . The clarion call title song was written shortly after 9/11. Lyrically it's influenced by Toby Keith's Courtesy Of The Red , White And Blue but a much heavier backing track . The Whole World's Going Psycho came after the Boston Marathon bombing , it started out as a slow 12 bar blues but as the times got worse it speeded up and I've added more recent calamities to the lyrics . ' The Future " a punkabilly rocker with weird harmonies and Chord changes about a seer who says he sees the future . "Trouble In The Air" another song written but not recorded for " Hollywood Psychos " musically inspired by the B52's another song reflecting todays headlines . 'What's The Problem " like the future with weird harmonies and punkabilly chord changes . The closing track " Rise And Shine " is a call to the human race to stand up and live your life to the fullest no matter what's going on in the world . I'm glad to get this ep out in a timely fashion it is relavent today Mike Lennon is a Phoenix Arizona based musician . He was born in Brooklyn New York and began his music career on Long Island in 1979 . His first band was the Outsyders in 1982 he began playing solo acoustic gigs in 1982 before moving into Greenwich Village in 1985 where he played nightly on Bleeker Street at Mills Tavern , Back fence Kenny's Castaways and The Bitter End . In 1987 he formed the Bumpkyns and made his first recording a 3 song cassette ep . In 1988 he formed Planet Doc which morphed into the Psychobillys they made lots of unreleased recordings which have since been issued on the PRP label . Concurrently Mike also had the Mokus Family a newgrass band and then Minetta Creek a traditional bluegrass band . all along Mike played in New York's subway system during the day . Mike moved to Ajo, Arizona in 1992 and made lots of recordings some are available on Mike's cd Psycho C@W / Psycho Ranchero . In 1995 Mike moved to Phoenix , Arizona and began playing solo . Now in his 19th year at the Rusty Spur Saloon in Old Town Scottsdale where he has a solo on Wednesdays and sundays and also sings and plays bass with the Psychobilly Rodeo Band on the weekends .
