The idea of this song came about from the powerful statement made by Pimp C in reference to how artist in the South were treated differently by the music industry early on in the game. The way the music industry people perceived artist in the South was like if they had no creativity and the music that they were putting out was ghetto, country, and not marketable. Keche Carter, along with other artist from the South realized that even though the music industry was making fun of things like Skrewed-Up music from the South, the sound of bass guitars on rap songs from the South, the slang used in the South, in addition to others, they were slowly trying to imitate the South and break artist in the South that couldn't sell out shows down south. Over the past 20 years, more and more artist have been capitalizing off the things the industry once laughed at and no one has ever spoke out on it nor have they given credit where credit is due. You had artist that were not from the South and some not from America beginning to skrew their music, then you had artist started using Southern slang in their songs, and the worst of all they began using tracks that were huge hits for down south rappers topping them with unworthy lyrics.
