Ten years have passed since the release of Skumring’s debut album “De Glemte Tider” on Aftermath records. Here at Secret Quarters Records, we still get a lot of questions about this release, and since it has been sold out for years, we figured that it was about time to do a re-release of this doom metal gem. And why not give it a remaster while we’re at it, just to subtly fix some of the audio issues with the original low budget version. Kjetil Ottersen took on the task of doing the remaster, and I think the result sounds quite a lot better than the release from 2005. I hope you’ll enjoy listening to it. - Cecilie Langlie, September 2015. About Skumring Skumring was created in the early summer months of 2004, when Cecilie and Váli were discussing to form a band. In the planning stages it became clear that the music they wanted to make would have to be heavy and melodic, thus the choice fell on doom metal. They recruited Ole to play rhythm guitar, and KK joined later to handle the bass, and soon started to rehearse self composed material. After a few weeks without a drummer, Knut replied to our ad on the Internet and the lineup was complete. However, after the recording of the 2004 demo version of De Glemte Tider Knut decided to leave the band. And late in 2005 Ole left the band. In 2009 Tom Simonsen (Omit, Havnatt) joined the band and replaced Ole as a riff guitarist.
