On one cool Autumn evening back in 2016, this song was penned after an evening of waiting for a message that never came. The lyrics were for a different song entirely and the music was for something else entirely. A week later, the music was written way before the lyrics were married to it. There posed a problem : "A good catchy piano part but how will any kind of lyric fit onto it?" There is no way that that piano part is going to be replaced, the lyrics will just have to be written around it, that's all. A further two weeks went by and notes scribbled on the notepad for another song were joined to the music. The chorus, the chorus, still a tricky one. So, having played the track on a continuous loop, some nonsense lyrics started to make sense, a little bit of fine tuning here and there and 'Eureka!" The song was 'at last' complete. The subject of the song was straightforward. As mentioned at the very beginning of this long write up, it was linked to a message from a guy that never was received that evening and the writer of the song getting a little fed up of being made to look 'Like a Fool'. Hence the title, hence the story behind the song!
