Demonic Sweaters started out as a single album recording project by musician, Justin Wierbonski then quickly evolved into releasing 7 full length albums in the year 2013. The New Sun is the 6th one of those releases. It combines use of hardware midi sequencing, vintage synthesizers, tonal experiments derived from traditional Chinese music, giant 1980s gated reverb drum sounds, lo fi moments recorded straight to 4-track cassette, space ambient, and soundtrack-esq themes.

Despite the wide variety of sounds, The New Sun flows nicely throughout the whole album as one cohesive work. Wierbonski also releases music as Justin Robert, The Children of Mu, and runs an independent record label, Lick Records.
