There’s A Refreshing Sound In Gospel Music - Dawn Monique! When one listens to Dawn Monique and feels the spirit and passion that encompasses her singing, it is obvious she’s anointed to sing. Born in the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey to parents who are musicians and pastors, Dawn Monique heard her calling at a very early age. “This baby is to grow up and sing; there's something special about the way she cries,” her mother exclaimed minutes after giving birth to her. Just as early as Dawn Monique began talking she began singing solos in church, and started singing in the church choir not too long after. In her sophomore year at North Brunswick High School, Dawn Monique founded the High School's Gospel Choir. Before she graduated from High School, she performed a Russian Opera, “Mazzeppa”, with Princeton Pro Musica at Carnegie Hall. In 2000 Dawn Monique met Di Shawn J. Gandy who would become her husband and producer. They became a team. Dawn Monique’s soulful and passionate voice found a unique and lovely blend with Di Shawn's lyrics and musical compositions. Together with a very talented and soulful band, Dawn Monique has a sound that is uniquely gospel soul music.
