People you’d meet on the street. To paraphrase the “Desiderata”, they, too, have their stories. The mis-adventures of an unnamed hero in “Cruisin’ Down To The Yucatan” or the stoical sermon on sin in “A Crime of Passion”. The tragedy of destroyed lives in the Florida hurricane of 1935. Love lost, humorously in “The Best Thing To Have Happened” and Esmerelda”, or sadly in “A Simple Song”. Life struggles in “Mojo Joe” and “An Island Sort of Way”. The joie de vivre of “The Puppy Song”, “It Ain’t What She Do”, and “Sonya The Stripper”. Or the poignantly philosophical “Once I Was Older”. It’s all here. Sung and performed by Phil and his faux musicians. What more is there? Maybe another collection of original songs on a yet to come CD.
