"Dead, yes I'm dead and I'm a smashing piece of nothing in the void I'm the fastest slowest Venus asteroid and there's no reason here to find yourself annoyed" ("Dead") Following up "Nordkreuz" and "Blind Slaves of Invisible Masters", released respectively at the end of 2012 and 2014, "LP" is act three for Ursel, the Berlin-based project by Hanibal and Rufus Penta. Rather than focusing on a main theme like in the previous "concept album", Ursel invite the listener to embark on a journey through different electronic styles, showcasing their rich, eclectic roots and inspirations, with tracks reminiscent of new wave and synthpop acts suchs as Depeche Mode and New Order ("Bambus Dream", "The Way You Show Your Love"), but still oscillating between the neo-prog mood of "Cabman", the tech-house dancefloor anthem of "High Noon" and some surprise 1990's rave breakbeats ("Funky Thrills"). "Dead" describes an ascension between the stars ("floating in the space without a name"): the lyrics were written by Hanibal after David Bowie's departure from this planet.
