简介

Skipline: Mark Hunter-guitar, vocals Ben Schigel-drums Jim Lamarca-bass Craig Esper-vocals (Additional vocals by Brian Hibschman and the Skipline mafia Additional guitars on the live tracks “wander” and “gag” by Ed Gandalf) Skipline was formed from several active members in the Cleveland, Ohio hardcore and metal scene in 1995. Often playing with bands like Integrity, Hatebreed, Zao, Ringworm, Ascension, One Life Crew, and Mushroomhead Skipline developed a quick and rabid fan base around not only Cleveland, but the Midwest as well. In 1996, the band embarked on an east coast tour, but it was cut short when their van was stolen in Providence Rhode Island. Upon the bands return the decision was made to split apart for several reasons. Mark and Jim went on to perform with one of the biggest metal acts of the last ten years, Chimaira. Ben Schigel focused on his recording studio producing several major acts, and was also signed with his new band Sw1tched to Immortal Records. Skipline’s fan base never seemed to diminish over the years; thus, the band has performed several reunion shows around the Cleveland area. The band is releasing its debut disc, which includes several songs from a tape they released in 1995, a song from a compilation from 1996, and live recordings from various shows including the now infamous “K.I.S.S” show. Guitarist Mark Hunter, when asked about his time in Skipline said, “I'd like to thank the Skipline mafia (our fans) for staying behind this relatively unknown band for over a decade. I’d also like to thank the dudes in the band for the great times. The experiences sure helped shape who we all became especially after we got all of our equipment stolen in Rhode Island! I still play some of these riffs to this day and this band will always have a place in my heart. Enjoy this cd but please remember we were just a bunch of punk kids who had no clue how to play their instruments...some things never change" Will Skipline play again? As long as people keep asking the question, my guess is, the answer will always be yes. Written by: Douglas Esper (domaincleveland)
