Welcome to the album experience 'Spirits and Souls'. Idara (whose name means “joy”) is an American singer-songwriter with a luscious voice, born of African and Caribbean descent. Born in Brooklyn New York, but raised in California’s Bay Area and Sacramento, Idara has been singing, playing piano, and writing songs since her youth. She also speaks, writes, and sings in Spanish. After graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Idara set out to become an in-demand professional singer in the Los Angeles area. She succeeded. Paying her dues and honing her chops in any and every venue possible, her efforts paid off, working as a studio singer and lead vocalist all over the West Coast, including work with some of LA’s top Orchestras and Big-Bands. Her charisma and dance skills enhance her stage presence, as she affirms “I’ll never be that singer who stands still on stage!” Idara wrote and composed each song on her new album, 'Spirits and Souls', produced by the talented Kev Choice. Her lyrics are prolific, thought-provoking, diverse and heartbreaking. In an often unsettling world, her words suggest unity, and the simplicity of just being “Nice”. Her songs ask only that you open your ears, and your heart…and simply enjoy.
