Ambient Visions

Imminence is a gorgeous composition that is skillfully performed by Rachel Currea and stirs a range of emotions in listeners as the music moves through several phases from beginning to end. Starting with a simple melody and with the keyboard the sole instrument to be heard the song quickly builds in intensity with the addition of strings, drums and a more spirited keyboard playing that really grabs the listener’s attention. Rachel Currea indeed has some impressive compositional skills that are fully on display as she is able to build this song from a quiet almost peaceful beginning to a powerfully dramatic mid-point and then take it full circle back to a quiet ending. Rachel’s aggressive playing is filled with power and excitement and lends a masterful punch to this composition as she is well able to keep pace with the drums and strings that rise in intensity toward a crescendo that brings this song to a satisfying close. Imminence is a very moving and emotional composition that certainly displays Rachel’s mastery of the piano and her sense of timing and style. The sound quality of this track is first rate and probably owes some of that to Grammy nominated producer Jon Cohen who produced this track for Rachel Currea.
