Well, this is a song I wrote during my English class as a senior in high school. In this particular class period, we were studying a book called “Heart of Darkness”, a novella written by Josef Conrad in 1902. This book has many themes in it about human nature, and conformity. I hadn’t really ever been struck by such a way by a book in my entire life, and as I was sitting there, the idea of turning my interpretation of this book into a song came to me, and I hurriedly jotted down lyrics that came to mind before the bell rang, and this is the product of that very class period.

Also, this is the very first song I have ever released for public sale, and I honestly have to say that in the 2 years I’ve been recording music, this, I believe is my most impressive piece, which is why I picked this one. I recorded this song using simply my digital piano, a microphone, and my MacBook. With this song I really wanted to try to reach out and touch people on an emotional level. My ultimate goal is to be able to touch the lives of the people that hear my music in positive ways. I want them to feel what I feel, to see what I see, and to experience the emotions that I am experiencing while I am writing music. I believe this song captures that idea quite well, and I genuinely hope that song accomplishes that very thing, and that you enjoy this song.
