In 1999 Brent struck up a relationship with Tom Johnson, composer/arranger for The Secondhands, and began work on his debut solo recording. In February of 2001, Brent released his debut solo full-length "Inland" on St Louis based Kick Save Records. Inland developed into a superb culmination of roots reggae, rocksteady, and folk music. Gathering musical influences from around the world Brent Berry continues to extend the coastline of traditional and original music with his 2007 release of "B-Sides". Available on High Water Records. A fine follow-up from "Monsoon", B-sides proves the Jug-Head beat is alive and well. The Taos, New Mexico quartet specializes in all styles.
