简介
The Project, The Personnel This album was a pleasure for Bayorhythm to make and although it has been almost ten years since the “new” Bayorhythm recorded it, the songs and the presentation sound very current. This iteration of Bayorhythm was named in Atlanta the “future of jazz” winner in 2004; consisting of Abebi Stafford playing the Fender Rhodes sound on the Roland RD 600, Anton Harris playing the tenor saxophone, and Che Marshall on the drum kit. The album was recorded September 30th 2005, and into the next day, mixed and mastered. John Briglevich, of Sonica Recording in Atlanta, engineered the sound so that the sub-woofer hooked to the keyboard could be heard with such crisp clarity that it’s hard to tell that there isn’t a bass player. Although not officially released, a selection or two from “Are Changing” had air play on radio station WCLK in Atlanta. The group’s leader, Abebi Stafford, had retired indefinitely to start a family; and has returned to officially release this record in which he authored all of the songs (the first album containing all original works). In 2005 and 2006, Abebi conducted a concert tour in Europe where he played several songs from this album and from his prior release “Luminous Flux” for attentive audiences. A few songs from this album were also selected as semi-finalists in the John Lennon songwriting contest in 2005. Anton Harris and Che Marshall would eventually go on to tour with and R & B artist, Ne-yo and R & B Soul artist Roberta Flack respectively. Bayorhythm reunited briefly in 2009 playing a few dates in Atlanta that year. Abebi Stafford is currently hard at work writing and arranging songs so that it won’t be another ten years before his next album release.
