简介
Pat Talbert has served as a musical ambassador for Scottish harp and fiddle for over 25 years. An accomplished performer on both instruments, she can set a stage on fire with her passionate fiddling, then touch your soul with the music of the ancient clarsach. She has served as a judge at harp and fiddle competitions around the United States, and her music has been heard on radio and television in the US, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain. Among her harp and fiddle instructors have been Alasdair Fraser, Johnny Cunningham, John Turner, William Jackson, Alison Kinnaird, and Sue Richards. Additionally,Pat holds a Ph.D. in Scottish literature and history. This enables her to share not only the music of the Celtic world with a listener, but the rich cultual context in which the music was created. This has made Pat Talbert a popular performer and lecturer at many of the major Scottish highland games and Celtic music festivals in the eastern U.S. In fact, her fans call her the "barefoot fiddler", because they know that when the music's energy starts to rise, Pat's shoes come flying off! "Peacocks and Angels" is a delightful gathering of tunes, mainly Scottish, which showcase the diversity of melodies, tempos and styles of Celtic music. Pat features both harp and fiddle on the recording, so that lovers of each instrument can appreciate her performances. The music ranges from tunes over 500 years old to compositions by contemporary masters. If you enjoy Celtic music, then this CD will quickly become one of the jewels in your collection.
