Kanye West shocked and thrilled the world with his account of college life on the classic album "The College Dropout" a feat which Da Face, a hip hop artiste from Trinidad repeats with brutal honesty, humorous wordplay and a breathless storytelling ability. Over twelve tracks, Face describes what it feels like to be a university student of the largest university in Trinidad known as U.W.I. or The University of the West Indies (hence the name). "Hitchhiker's Guide to UWI" is also a play on the title of the first in a popular series of books known as "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" with Da Face playing the role of the guide and informing listeners how to maneuver their way through the often confusing institute. Expect a well-crafted soundscape that exudes traditional hip hop mixed with Caribbean music such as dancehall, soca and calypso and features many other popular Caribbean artistes of varying genres such as Skeeto, Make It Hapn, Chinee and Nickolai of the band Gyazette as Face tells the story and brings this ambitious concept album to life with flair providing an entertaining listen from start to finish.
