简介
"Definite Bummer" is David Messenger's second release. This EP is highlighting several of the tracks that are included in the full length release, slated for release in either 2011 or 2012. Mr. Messenger's first release, "Frictional Reaction" was released on CD Baby in 2003. Like that release, "Definite Bummer" contains a mix of modern electronic textures and more traditional guitar and vocal performances, working in the electronica realm with a hint of old school prog, 1980's funk and artrock styling with a nod toward modern dance music as well. Fans of early techno & electronica artists like Thomas Dolby, Information Society and the vocal work of David Bowie may find a clear field of influence in Mr. Messengers work. Almost reclusive and unseen as a live act Mr. Messenger eventually intends to perform as largely a solo performer live in his native area (Portland, OR, US) but has decided not to tour nationally in lieu a more modern approach of appearing in future internet broadcasts as being a more adaptive and conducive approach for a mature artist in an ever younger growing musical landscape. In that respect, these online releases offer an opportunity to gauge what material those performances will consist of, as Mr. Messenger writes and performs with his unique take on current popular electronica in a category which he largely stands alone.
