No line hits closer to home for fellow indie artists than the one that ends the song when he proclaims, “I’m done paying dues, I’m due to get paid.” Through an energetic track and a demanding hook, Taktile vents a powerful message “Mic check, mic check, hand over my check.” The verses, more reminiscent of his early work, show a self-conflicted artist contemplating his next move. Switching from confident to doubtful of himself, one can’t wonder if this was Tak’s truest track this year. Although this song is not the hit that a track like “Blow my mind” may be, it very well might relate to more people who follow him regularly.
