Craig Prather has been a force in the west coast/Reno music scene for years. A recent highlight of Craig’s music career includes playing for a sold out crowd at Bartley Ranch ample theatre in June 2012 with his rock band “Stout”. Craig played for a large crowd with Stout at Cargo in the Commrow hotel in Reno NV in July 2012. Craig has played solo piano gigs at the Siena hotel spa for over a year as well as Luva bella wine gallery in Reno, NV as well as other local venues. Craig has played for several wedding venues as well as High School and College musicals. As an accomplished pianist, Craig has been playing piano, keyboard and synthesizer for over 30 years. Born in Ukiah, California in 1976, Craig comes from an extensive musical family background. Craig is the eldest son of accomplished musician and songwriter “Danny Prather” of the Prather brother’s band and C.A.M. Craig’s Uncles are all musically talented and have diverse song writing abilities. The Prather brother’s band has opened for well-known bands such as the Doobie brothers, Kansas and Brooks and Dunn. Craig started playing the piano by ear at age four and stayed consistent all the way through middle and High School. He took piano lessons for only 2 years and was able to mimic almost exactly the piano styles of Billy Joel and Elton John. Craig hosted and performed in a popular open mic show at the Siena Hotel spa casino from 2011-2012. Craig has performed with other local Reno performers at Walden’s coffee house and the Siena hotel and spa. He has classic vocal training from John Lorentzen of Sparks Nevada as well as several years of advanced choir and honor choir classes. Craig’s unique songwriting ability started at just age 14. Already able to master harmonies and catchy chord progressions, by age 16 Craig had written over 20 catchy and inspirational alternative and adult contemporary songs. Craig continued his song writing through High School and College and has over 100 fully composed original songs in the genres of: Country, adult contemporary, alternative, rock, R&b and Christian soft rock. Craig recently worked with “Henry Maurice Allen” formerly of Motown records that signed such artists as “Eminem, Boys II Men, Christina Aguilera and others on vocal engineering of his latest ep album “Collaboration” set to release in September 2012. Craig’s commitment to God, family and friends has helped propel him to great heights in his music career. Craig has several years of coursework towards a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and Truckee meadows community college.
