Terrence Hughes, pianist East Of The Sun Minneapolis pianist Terrence Hughes released “East Of The Sun” in 1992. It is a collection of some the area’s most accomplished jazz musicians. Reminiscent of the Blue Note recordings of the late 1950’s the album features tunes written by Horace Silver, Claire Fischer, Billy Strayhorn and Benny Golson among others. The trio of bass, drums and piano is accompanied by a horn or two on most of the tracks and is generally described as “straight-ahead” jazz.
