After two EPs and 3 years of writing and performing together, Pinscape (Matthew Flook & Andrew Wisler) have recorded their most sonically ambitious work to date. Angle Of Incidence is the debut album that blends this Portland duo's deep appreciation of the early '90s shoegaze scene with forward thinking space rock and electronic genres. Their dynamic use of ambient guitars and textural synthesis complement gentle vocals, atonal beats, and driving bass to deliver songs that invigorate and inspire. Nine months of jamming and sonic exploration went into the pre-production of the album, and at times up to 12 hours a day were spent in windowless rehearsal spaces.

The band left behind the minimalism of the first Pinscape EP, and collaborated to write the songs out on guitar and keys first, embracing a darker, more developed sound. With meticulous attention to detail, the one minute demos were birthed into new songs. Some of the spacier synth songs turned into instrumentals, while other fuzzed out loops and progressions became segues for the album. With the support of producer Scott Worley on board, final details of the album's mixing and track order were made and with a touch of reverb shimmer and heart, Angle Of Incidence was complete.
