On April 27, 2012, French singer-songwriter June Caravel releases her new album The A Cappella Sessions. June has stripped down all the songs to her bare vocals by re-creating all instruments through an eclectic mix of beat boxing, backing vocals and bass lines and a dose of snaps and claps. June’s first singing experience was in a school choir aged 11. There she learnt Gershwin’s Summertime and also a choir piece by Bach, both of which feature on The A Cappella Sessions. “With The A Cappella Sessions I want to pay tribute to my formative years where I first discovered the power of harmony through none other than the master of it, Bach.” Paris-born June also declares her love to London in the London Song Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txtLnQIaTJk), which has already more than 9000 cumulated views on Youtube, Vimeo and Dailymotion. June’s approach to A Cappella comes with an original twist. The A Cappella Sessions turns Bach groovy, gives Summertime a gospel gloss and injects a mixture of jazz, drum’n’bass, soul and electro into her own songs I’m not forgiving you, I’m gonna put some make-up on and London Song. June has also come up with songs in 5 different languages: Primavera, a duet with her Mexican childhood friend Lucia Barahona is in Spanish, Non Voglio un Caffè in Italian, J'te ramène à la boutique, a song co-written with Pierre Carrey is in French and of course the Bach cantata is in its native German version. June has also organized a remix contest and the 3 winning remixes are on the album. London Song has been remixed by Unsungwarrior in a London Sub style while I'm not forgiving you and I'm gonna put some make up on have been remixed by Greeno and DJ Nabs' in a Dance style.
