简介
Paul G. The Official Biography During the early 1990s, Paul G. enjoyed a brief run as a member of one of the first worldly known African Rap groups South Side Posse (SSP). Born Paulo Jorge Marques Joao in Luanda - Angola, South West Africa, he grew up skate-boarding professionally, dancing, and listening to R&B artists like Marvin Gaye and Hip-Hop pioneers like LL Cool J and Run DMC. At age 18, after losing interest in professional skate-boarding and becoming more interested in the American B-Boy culture, Paul G. added the rap skill to his vocal repertoire and co-founded the first Angolan commercial rap group South Side Posse (SSP). As part of SSP, Paul G. gained his first experiences dancing and rapping to thousands of people world wide. After eight years as part of SSP, Paul G. decided to depart from the group and seek his desire to sing and produce R&B music not just for Angola, but also for the rest of the world. As if it wasn't challenging enough to go from rapping to singing professionally, Paul G decided to launch Magic Fingaz Production, an independent production company that introduced Bruna Tatiana to the world, as the first female R&B singer of Angola. Bruna's success with the song, “Donde Esta La Fiesta“, conquered the Portuguese and Spanish speaking music markets throughout the world, and it also gave Paul G the vision and assurance needed to conquer the world with his music. While living in the Washington DC metropolitan area from 2006 through 2008, Paul G. under the guidance of H. Gil Ingles (one of the founding members of X-POSURE Entertainment) recorded Transition, his first solo album that introduced him to the world as one of Africa’s hottest R&B singers. “Freaking Me Out“, the album’s first music video was number one for five straight weeks on the Top 10 R&B video charts of MTV Base, earned Paul G. a Kora Award nomination for Best African Artist in 2009, and eventually a Best Performance Award at the Kora Awards show in 2010. Now, as a solo artist with the respect of his peers in the American music industry, Paul G. has had the opportunity to share the performance stage, vocal booth and camera lens with superstars like Akon on “Bang It All”, the first single from his second album scheduled for release in early 2011. ...
