Detroit duo The Bodies Obtained will release their album Eightsome on September 8th via Finding You Attractive. Their experimentation with the edges of electronic music remains uncompromising while taking some unexpected turns. The disembodied voice that begins the album on “First to Arrive” seems to revel in the threatening synths. The idyllic dreamscape of “Kava” accelerates to a frenzy and flirts with Hi-NRG before giving way to the tension of “On The Wrong Foot”.

In an era where overexposure and making everythiing public is the modus operandi, The Bodies Obtained continue to share nothing but their work. There are no photos of them, no socials, and no live show. They are part of an artistic lineage that extends to pioneers like Brian Eno and Throbbing Gristle through to The Knife and Oneohtrix Point Never. Eightsome is a fusillage of sound aimed at the world.
