This is David Melbye (Heavy Water Experiments)'s early acoustic material, some of which has been reworked for HWE. The music takes influence from such acoustic-oriented artists as Nick Drake, Donovan, Bert Jansch, Paul Simon, and others. The vocal style can be described as Floyd-esque, subdued/mellow, and/or melodic. Besides using a variety of fingerpicking approaches and open tunings, Melbye accompanies some of his songs with instruments such as mandolin, autoharp, tambura, and a variety of percussion. The tracks on this CD are mostly minor-key oriented and have a melancholic quality.
