简介
What does this album sound like? From the opening thumps of a muscular bass drum leading into a soul scorching scream to the final notes of a tortured Les Paul Custom through an over-cranked Marshall amplifier one word resonates through-out…passion!!! The Torok ‘sound’ has elements of 70s giants "Led Zeppelin" and "Deep Purple", a bit of 80s rock heroes "Van Halen" and "Badlands" with just a taste of modern production tonalities thrown in for good measure. There is no flavor of the moment follow the leader formula here. The basic recipe is bluesy, funky, hard rock grooves with finger twisting guitar riffs topped off by soaring chest-pounding vocals. This is the 3rd release from the Erickson-Torok team: "Silence" 1996, "Binge & Purge" 2001 and now "Addiction of Fools" 2007. As did Prince and Husker Du, the band Torok makes their home in the Twin cities. Torok features Bryan Erickson from "Son of Eric" on vocals/keys, Mike Torok original lead guitarist for shock rock kings "Impaler", John Jankowski keyboard player from "Love Child", Bill Holmberg guitar/bass player from the "Eternal Teenagers" and Tim Davis drummer extraordinaire from "Breathin Sand". The band’s goal is to produce music that embodies the energy of a 500-lb. bomb, sexuality of a porn-star, power of a Harley-Davidson Fat boy and above all keeping it honest. Torok's music was recorded and performed to be played f**king loud!!!!!
