Remixes are done by CROOKERS (Remixers for CHEMICAL BROTHERS, BONDE DO ROLE), PRINCESS SUPERSTAR (K7) and SHADOWDANCER (Boys Noize). MARK STEWART is known from THE POP GROUP and his genreblending compilation KISS THE FUTURE on SOULJAZZ . ADAM SKY was responsible for SEALS hit KILLER in the 80ies under the name of ADAMSKI. On PARASITE, MARK&ADAM team up for a new tune with guest vocals from ANGIE REED (CHICKS ON SPEED). After the first 12inch Release from SURKIN with his Remix of KILLALADY for JUSTINE ELECTRA, this is the second 12inch Vinyl on the small Berlin label EXPLOITED from SHIR KHAN. MARK STEWART Mark Stewart started out in Bristol, England in 1978 in music with the Pop Group. The Pop Group was a post-punk band whose uncompromising, dissonant sound spanned punk, free jazz, funk and dub reggae. Their lyrics were, more often than not, political in nature. Mark Stewart (lyrics, vocals), John Waddington (guitar),Gareth Sager (guitar), Simon Underwood (bass) and Bruce Smith (drums, percussion) issued their debut single, "She is Beyond Good and Evil" on the Radar label the following year. Their debut album Y, was produced by reggae veteran Dennis Bovell to critical acclaim but low sales figures. Although it did not chart, the album's success was sufficient to convince Rough Trade to sign the band, but not before more line-up changes, with Dan Katsis replacing Underwood on bass. The band's career with Rough Trade commenced with what is possibly their best-known single "We Are All Prostitutes". This was followed the release of their second album, For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder? in 1980. Shortly afterwards The Pop Group released a split single, "Where There's a Will...", with The Slits, a band with whom they now shared a drummer and managers (Christine Robertson and Dick O'Dell), as well as a growing interest in exploring musical genres such as dub and funk rhythms. The band split in 1981. Members of the group went on to form bands including Pigbag, Maximum Joy, Head and Rip Rig & panic, the latter notable for the involvement of Neneh Cherry. Singer Mark Stewart, meanwhile, collaborated with the On-U Sound posse, issuing records firstly as Mark Stewart and Maffia, then as a solo artist. The Pop Group and associated bands started a Bristol 'scene' that would later spawn trip-hop. Stewart has since made several albums under his own name as well as collaborating with big names such as Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Alec Empire of Atari Teenage Riot and The Bug. In 2005, he released a collection of his best work on Soul Jazz Records titled 'Kiss the Future'. In 2007 he teamed up with Adam Sky to rerecord a dancefloor version of "We are all Prostitutes" to be released on Exploited. He is currently having a documentary filmed about him including interviews with the likes of David Bowie. ADAM SKY Adam made his 1st record aged 11 years,in 1979, as part of the kinderpunk group "THE STUPID BABIES" The song, 'BABYSITTERS' was on the EARCOM 3 e.p. on FAST PRODUCT records along with German electronic pioneers D.A.F. who hugely influenced Adam. The song was regulaly played on the JOHN PEEL radioshow and SIOUXSIE SIOUX told Adam, years later, and much to his delight, that she allways carried a copy in her handbag and pestered DJs to play it when she went to clubs. In 1986 Adam formed DISKORD DATKORD with JONNY SLUT (DJ and host of club NAGNAGNAG in london where Adam was a regular DJ and performer) and his brother TINLEY, then known as TRASHMASTER T (who made the Acid House classic 'GARDEN OF EDEN' 1988). They only released one single (of the week in N.M.E.), a cover version of X RAY SPEX's 'Identity' which included samples of the original played over a MANTRONIX bassline - possibly the 1st ever ELECTROCLASH record? Also around this time Adam had another project called 'THE LEGION OF DYNAMIC DISKORD' who released a version of DAVID BOWIE'S 'Rebel Rebel', which sampled, bizarrely, THE NOLAN SISTERS and CARMEN MIRANDA. This was played regulaly on STEVE JACKSON'S then pirate KISS FM radio show.In 1988 Adam (who had by now become ADAMSKI named after the UFO enthusiast/space traveller GEORGE ADAMSKI) met his House music mentor JIMI POLO from CHICAGO,U.S.A. They moved into adjoining bedsits above THE PARADISE KEBAB SHOP in Camden, London and JIMI taught Adam how to use a sequencer and 909 drum machine. He also introduced Adam to many of his house music heroes from Chicago like ADONIS, MARSHALL JEFFERSON and ROBERT OWENS. Adam, in turn, provided JIMI POLO with the much-sampled (by BLUR etc) piano riff for his house music classic 'BETTER DAYS'.So in early 1989, following JIMI POLO's lead Adam started taking his sequencer, drum machine and sampler to nightclubs, plugging into the DJ mixer and playing live mixdowns of his self-composed tracks and went from playing after hours parties in LE PETIT PRINCE in Kentish town, London, which was owned by his then manager,PHILIP RAPIER-SMITH to playing at all the legendary and pioneering house clubs all over Britain including SHOOM , HEAVEN and SOLARIS in London, the HACIENDA in Manchester, the SUB CLUB in Glasgow and UNDERGROUND in Liverpool etc etc. He was resident spin-in Techno musician in the world famous AMNESIA nightclub in IBIZA alongside the legendary DJ ALFREDO. He was also appearing at many of the early, illegal raves and warehouse parties in the UK such as SUNRISE, ENERGY and BIOLOGY and had his 1st pan-european hit with the instrumental track "NRGIn 1990 he had a massive hit with the track "Killer" featuring the vocals of SEAL.The song has since been covered by GEORGE MICHEAL, German trance DJ ATB, SUGABABES and most recently GLOBAL DJS. In the early 90's Adam continued to produce artistic dance music and work with such diverse talents as MARK STEWART, NINA HAGEN, AFRIKA BAMBAATAA, ELTON JOHN and RICARDO DA FORCE of THE KLF.He then formed PING PONG (now known as PING PONG B**CHES), partook in procreation and followed through and spent time developing songwriting, production and DJing skills. In 1998 he released "ONE OF THE PEOPLE" featuring the vocals of GERIDEAU which was another big tune, especially in Ibiza and Italy. Adam now lives and operates in Berlin and works as a CDJ,musician and producer all over the world. On top of many remixes and collaborations he is releasing new tracks on french uber-label Kitsuné records since 2006.The upcoming months will see an outburst of creativity, manifested in numerous new releases on various labels such as his collaboration with Mark Stewart of the Pop Group's classic "WE ARE ALL PROSTITUTES" on EXPLOITED.New Rave? True Rave!!
