简介
Song for My Double is the debut album for art rock band, Invisible Homes. The album deftly combines eclectic indie pop songwriting with searching poetry and a rich palate of sonic experimentation. Invisible Homes is joined on this record by an impressive set of national and international performers, including jazz great, Ra-Kalam Bob Moses, Barika, Japhy Ryder, members of Kat Wright's Indomitable Soul Band, Justin Levinson, Chris Dorman, Stein Malvey (Four Freshmen), Chris Bell, and more. Comparing the band to Arcade Fire, Antibalas, My Morning Jacket, Dinosaur Jr. and Wilco, critics immediately hailed the record, writing, "Every second of Song for My Double makes you rethink the limits of pop music" (Seven Days) and "Invisible Homes, very suddenly, might become your favorite band" (Angelica Music). The Bob Edwards Show (NPR/SiriusXM) declared the first single, “Little Song,” “Nearly a perfect pop effort." The album’s core tracks were recorded on location in a log cabin where writer, singer, and guitar player, Sean Witters grew up. An accomplished engineer, Witters, then, spent two years working at Vermont’s Stu Stu Studio (the recording studio of acclaimed musician and friend, Ryan Power), layering vintage synth sounds, prepared tape effects, horn arrangements, and vocal parts. As the album evolved it became, as one guest put it, the center for a community of musicians. The result is an album that will reward multiple listenings with its crafty and deeply literary songwriting and complex, evolving arrangements of sound.
