Alphonso Boyd AKA Al Boyd AKA Mr Shakey Ground has finally released his first solo CD. He has sung lead on a few songs in the past or has shared lead vocals with The Imperial Wonders and Truth. This CD features "Shakey Ground" which he originally wrote for The Temptations and was covered by Van McCoy, Phoebe Snow Delbert McClinton, Etta James, Fishbone, Elton John, Rebecca Lynn Howard and Aerosmith. It also features "Blow The House Down" which was originally recorded by Junior Walker, "Take Me To The Stars" , which was originally recorded by The O'Jays and "This Time Around", which was originally recorded by S.O.U.L. then rerecorded by Phats and Small. Alphonso is either writer or co-writer on all ten of the songs on this CD. He shows incredible vocal range on this CD and various styles of tracks. There is something there for almost every type of music listener. All I can say is "It's about time".
