Guided meditations have been my passion since discovering New Thought spirituality. I began by my own experience as others lead and then by leading children and teenagers myself. They loved it and I dreamed of writing a book of scripts for others to use. Little did I know this was not the path I would take. Our youth director asked my teenagers if one of them would lead a meditation for the larger adult group in an effort to get the children and adults interacting more often. I told the kids I was willing to help if someone would do it; not do it for them, but help... Silence... OK... The director asked me later if anyone accepted the offer. I told her no. Without missing a beat she asked, "Well then, will you do it?" I was a bit surprised and stunned for a moment felt like the proverbial "deer in the headlights" as I have never been comfortable speaking to large groups. However, it felt right so I said "Yes." and then thinking "How will I do this?" Well with shaking knees and hands, I spoke my truth through the meditation. Not thinking it was very good, I was quite surprised when so many people asked questions like, "Do you have a cd?" "Do you do this professionally?" and statements like, "That was so beautiful." "I hope you'll do this again." I also saw people with tears in their eyes as they allowed themselves to relax and be touched by the Spirit within. I was asked many more times over the next few months to lead more meditations. With each time I felt more comfortable and "knew" that this was mine to do. Many people encouraged me to make a cd. I had no idea even where to begin, and the right people and opportunities were placed in my path at the exact right time. It is my sincere hope that something in you will be stirred as you listen; that's all just listen, relax, and be open to what you experience.
