Actually recorded in 1985 just before we moved to Belgium as missionaries. Driving from Wisconsin to Kentucky we looked up and saw the geese migrating and God said, "It's time to fly." It was a time of great upheaval and change in the church. This song and album turned many lives and whole ministries upside down. Laura and I were still living and travelling in a motorhome when we recorded this, and during the recording in Chicago it got so cold that we had to camp out on the lounge floor of the studio. Mal Davis was the engineer. I remember weeping during the recording of the strings and brass on Song For the Nations...May we be a shining light to the nations...This album comes with a warning, it may turn your life upside down and you may find yourself moving to another part of the world as God's missionary heart gives you wings to fly.
