简介

Established in 1998 in Phoenix, Arizona, 454 cranks out the type of groove based metal that reminds us what music is all about. They've wasted no time establishing a strong fan base with blistering CD's and a devastating live performance. "For metal this heavy, this band brings some truly unique things to the table. The vocal acrobatics give a whole new dimension to the power groove. From tongue twisters to backbeats, from the gravel pit to the choir, and from rumbling lows to brilliant harmonies, the vocals beautifully accent the superb song structures. Somehow marry the devastation of Pantera to the grace of Tool, and you'll find 454." Doug Remington, Metal Edge magazine, August 2004 While influences ranging from Sabbath to Sevendust, Stevie Wonder to Exhorder, and Faith No More to System of a Down might paint a picture of sound, it doesn't begin to illustrate the art that is 454's sound. It's members, "Evil" Dave (guitars), "Mohog" (vocals), "Tweedy" (bass), and "Monsta" Chris (drums), will tell you it's all about the groove. "Technical Wizardry is good for the 10% of the listeners who are themselves musicians, but when you throw down a heavy groove, even if you don't listen to heavy music, the whole place starts to move!! That's what it's about!!" says "Evil" Dave. Something about that statement must be true. With 5 full length CD's under their belts, over 7000 units sold, along with shirts, hats, and other swag moving in volumes supporting each of the CD's, 454 has definitely become a must see act. Whether doing regional touring or opening for some of the hottest national acts (Megadeth, Slipknot, Sepultura, to name a few), 454 has clearly risen above the pack. "5 people or 5000 people, it's 110 percent every show, no question......PERIOD!!" says 454 front man "Mohog". "Usually, we shell out more money in lights and sound than we make in a night to insure our music comes across and the fans get a true show. Jammin' 6 hours a night in a metal storage shed when it's 110 degrees outside shows our commitment to the music. We just want to get the tunes out on a massive scale!!! Although being heard nationwide on "The Howard Stern Show" ( Sept. 2004) was great, we want to step it up a notch!" Finally, let's hear what the critics have to say about 454: "Original yet memorable riffs with diverse vocals. Pure Adrenaline!!!" Michael Tate, Kerrang magazine, July 2004 "By far the best unsigned metal band to come across my desk since..................well a long damn time!!! 454's Pound is a must!! Derek Singer, Metal Maniacs magazine, August 2004 "Watch out metal bands, a new sheriff's come to town looking for prisoners, and they go by "454".
