简介
“On Our Way” is The Brummy Brothers’ debut full-length album, produced by Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth. Over the past two years The Brummy Brothers have toured the Northeast region for bluegrass loving fans that love to “Shake Their Brum”. The album allows the band to share the composite of their songs written in their time together and represents the bands high energy, modern bluegrass feel. The record incorporates harmonizing voices, fantastic instrumentation, and great solos including guest solos on Trumpet as well as Piano, bringing a whole new dynamic to their newgrass style. After the Brummy Brothers’ most recent show at the Brooklyn Bowl with Cornmeal in March, Live for Live music wrote. “With veteran jamgrass stalwarts like Yonder Mountain, Cornmeal and Railroad Earth well into their second decade of performing, it is rewarding to witness a fresh batch of sounds from a multi-talented band clearly adept at successfully taking the reins of the genre into the bright future” (L4LM article) Railroad Earth’s Carbone was insistent that “On Our Way” be created with the highest standards in order to put his name on this project. Once Carbone heard our initial tracks before accepting us a client, he likened us to the Greensky Bluegrass in their early years. Carbone put The Brummy Brothers through two days of pre-production, which he refers to as “boot camp”. Greensky went through the same “boot camp”, when they worked with Carbone on their first two albums. Following their Valentine’s Day show with Yarn at the Red Square, Albany, UpstateLive wrote, “Over the course of two years, The Brummy’s have toured the Northeast incessantly, getting their music out and forging a reputation. They recently went behind the scenes and recorded their first album, aptly titled On Our Way. After witnessing their stage prowess in Albany, they are very clearly “on [their] way,” if not already there. Evidenced by their work with fiddler and producer, Timothy Carbone, The Brummy’s proclaimed the recording was a ‘musical boot camp!’” (UpstateLive article) Regarding their performance at John Harvard’s Brewery, The Boston Music Examiner wrote, "The recognizable beginnings then developed into breakneck jam grass that highlighted the instrumental proficiency of all four members...The band’s constituency continues to grow as they spread their talent around the Northeast" (Boston Music Examiner article). The album release will be on May 13, and their tour to support the release of the album on will begin on May 15 (Dates are announced here). The Brummy Brothers shared the stage with Cornmeal and Poor Man’s Whiskey at The Brooklyn Bowl and performed with Floodwood & Cabinet at one of the Blockley’s last shows before it’s close. Now they're about to perform on the main stage at the Toyota Pavilion’s Susquehanna Breakdown with Cabinet, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Marco Benevento, Floodwood, Driftwood and many more acts. They played over 13 music festivals last summer in their first summer touring, including StrangeCreek Music Festival, and Catskill Chill. This album was made not only for current fans, but to draw in new listeners from all different types of musical backgrounds. After performing at StrangeCreek Music Festival last summer, Jambase.com wrote “The ‘Artist-At-Large’ is the one with no set performing times or location but rather a roaming commission. One can’t imagine a more ideal band suited for this task than the Brummy Brothers. Having only played together for a year, the energy is fresh and they converted many new fans who danced to their grooves regardless of the location or time they performed.” (Jambase article) Sensible reason also published this after The Brummy Brothers’ second performance at the Catskill Chill in 2013, "Over at the Junction, the Brummy Brothers put on a hootenanny punctuated by the infectious refrain of ‘There’s nothing like being horny, drunk, stoned and laughing!’” (Sensible Reason Article)
