简介
"Instrumental Praise" is the brainchild of long time pro violinist Pete Hartley. Pete began teaching violin to a small class of children from Small Heath Baptist Church in Birmingham, England in 2008. At the same time, he asked Chris King, his long-term musical friend to produce some backing tracks for the children to perform to in Church. Impressed by the beauty of what Chris had created, Pete realised the potential for a CD and that the tracks would also be perfect for the soulful sound of trumpet player John Barker. Pete and John had been looking to collaborate for ten years, and this project finally provided the ideal opportunity for them to create some truly magical music, with Chris at the helm as Musical Director and Producer. Chris, John and Pete would like to give their thanks to the guest musicians who have performed on this album, particularly to legendary drummer Jon Hiseman. After 30 years of being pro, Pete Hartley is one of the most experienced musicians in the country - a virtuoso electric violinist who has performed for nearly every sort of performance imaginable, from TV and theatre through to christenings and funerals! Pete has recorded over 20 solo albums, a "How to Play the Blues Violin" DVD, played functions for Bill Clinton, Bertie Ahern, Princess Anne, and in a personal career highlight, he has performed for Joanna Lumley! John Barker has worked professionally as a trumpet player for 25 years, and has released 10 solo albums. He has performed with numerous orchestras, and has experience from live TV, concerts and weddings. His travels take him all over the U.K. and the U.S. He has had a great time recording these tracks with Chris and Pete. He sincerely hopes you enjoy listening! Chris King has been in the recording industry for the past 25 years, doing everything from recording and producing bands and singers, to creating jingles for radio stations. He also plays the piano and is one of the Musical Directors at Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church in the West Midlands. On 'Instrumental Praise' he arranges and plays much of the accompaniment at his studio in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
