简介

The Birth of Relic The Don Midwest rapper “Relic The Don” has traveled a path most rappers could only walk in cleverly spun tall tales of “street survival”. Yet, here he is gearing up to release his highly anticipated solo project, in which he executive produced himself. To “Relic The Don” music seems less challenging, than what it took for him to see how much he loved it. A style formed in the darkness of Federal prison, where he served five years on drug charges? Or is it possible that being mentored by “Shady Records” producer/engineer Mike Strange, recording sessions with Aaron “Lefty” Kimmerer, and a relationship with Platinum selling rap artist “Obie Trice” had a little to do with his evolution as an artist. Since being dragged to battles by his older brother and friends at the age of 12 years old, “Relic The Don” knew that music would forever be his passion. He also knew surviving the drug infested blocks his mothers was forced to raise him in were slim. He would soon prove right by going to prison. A place as dark as prison is where the light shined first on his career. Surrounded by some of the most well known “Street Figures” from Chicago to Detroit he quickly became known as the prison’s rap “King Of The Compound”. Upon release from prison he connected with Aaron “Lefty” Kimmerer and released his debut album “The Wait is Over”. He and “Lefty” then began recording in Flint, MI which lead to Mike Strange inviting them to record at Detroit’s “54 Sound” Studios. A bond was formed. The only step that “Relic The Don” could make was to dedicate his time to writing, recording, and learning how to do anything that could help him become a better artist, even recording and mixing his own music. This started when “Lefty” decided to build “The Shop” Recording Studio in Pontiac, MI. The building of said studio would also lead to the start of a relationship with “Obie Trice” and the release of the mixed tape “Legal Hustle”, Starring “Obie Trice” and “Relic The Don”. Now, after spending time mastering his craft, “Relic The Don” is set to release his highly anticipated and long awaited solo project. To go with that he has been ghost writing for many artist including most notable the album “Welcoming Change” by R&B up and coming sensation “Jay Albright”. With a tour planned for the future and the introduction of his independent record label “World Wide Hustle Inc.”, a partnering venture with Aaron “Lefty” Kimmerer, “Relic The Don” looks to be plenty busy in the future. He spends “down time” developing artist and working with children who are interested in music. He said;” If I had some one to recognize the gift in me at a young age, who knows what could of happened.”. From the looks of it, nothing was going to stop “Relic The Don”.
