简介
Victor Johnson is a singer/songwriter based in Bend, Oregon. He recently released his 4th CD, Beautiful Things, recorded at Soundsmith Studios in Bend, which he co-produced with Clay Smith. Johnson has an eclectic style, characterized by unusual chords (colors and textures), subtle changes between major and minor, strong, engaging vocals, and gorgeous, inspired lyrics, full of nature imagery. Major influences include Joni Mitchell, Rush, Grateful Dead, Nick Drake, Stevie Wonder, and John Coltrane. Johnson finds inspiration, spending time amongst the forests, lake, mountains, waterfalls, and rivers of Central Oregon. Several of his songs have been written for victims of violence and major tragedies. His mission is to write, record, and perform songs that promote love, healing, and forgiveness, and celebrate the divine beauty in all people, places, and things. On This Train was inspired by the last word of Taliesin Namkai-Meche - "Tell everyone on this train, I love them." It is dedicated to the memory of Taliesin Namkai-Meche and Rick Best, who stood up for love in the face of hate. My intention is to help cultivate love, healing, and forgiveness, and to spread a message that we are all in this together. Please advocate for love and speak out for love every opportunity that you have. Tell everyone on this train I love them Please tell them that for me Tell everyone that I love them Cause we are all just one family. "Johnson is one of the many artists who are warriors of light, reminding humanity to care when our fellow humans are suffering. Art, literature and music have long since been vessels toward change. If the pen is mightier than the sword, then the voice is mightier than the pen." - Morena Duwe, The Huffington Post
