Before the Day is Whittney's first solo EP, which was entirely self-produced in her home studio. An eclectic melding of genres, BtD incorporates rock, pop, folk, electronica, classical, and jazz elements, creating a uniqueness marked by her extensive musical background. The album features Neil Patton on bass, Andrés Salazar on drums, Michelle Packman on cello, Joe Sanders and Miko Shudo on violin, and Tom Bremer on guitar. Whittney is already working on the follow-up to Before the Day, a full length album entitled Sunlight Symphony.
